Gaming fact: Bloodborne was originally planned without firearms

During development, Hidetaka Miyazaki and the FromSoftware team did not intend to include firearms. The game was designed around a melee combat concept.

But when the artists created art featuring a hunter and a decorative musket, Miyazaki decided that shooting perfectly fit the Victorian Gothic style. That's how pistols and muskets were introduced.
