Gaming fact: Most games on Steam do not make a profit

Analysts calculated that about 40% of games released on Steam in a year did not even recoup the $100 that developers pay for listing.

Only 8% of releases earned more than $100,000, while the rest went into the red. Interestingly, if you add adult games to your wishlist, they are almost always purchased.
