The Plants vs Zombies remaster turned out to be a neural network mess — EA tries to shove crap to nostalgic fans for 20 bucks

The game's marketing campaign turned into a disgrace for the company:

🟠EA posted on Twitter "concept arts" generated by a neural network — the original artist Rich Werner created finished artworks right away, so no concepts actually exist;
🟠Werner confirmed the info, noting that PvZ: Replanted uses AI upscaling instead of updated hand drawings;
🟠It turned out the remaster is a port of the Windows Phone game that was remade in Unity. This is easily spotted in the source code;
🟠Right now the official PvZ account is trying to take control of the situation, but users have started finding classic AI fingerprints in the trailers.

They are asking 20 bucks for the remaster.
